MOSCOW, Dec 30 - RIA Novosti. Moscow confirms that negotiations on security guarantees will begin with consultations in Geneva between the Russian Federation and the United States on January 10, and then continue at a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council on January 12 in Brussels and on January 13 in Vienna at the OSCE site, further steps will depend on the willingness of the United States and NATO to discuss Moscow's concerns in detail, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said.
"As for the discussion of our proposed draft international legal documents on security guarantees - a bilateral treaty with the United States and an agreement with NATO member states - it will take place within the framework of the Russian-American high-level dialogue in Geneva on January 10, then at a meeting of the NATO-Russia Council on January 12 in Brussels, and on January 13 in Vienna at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council. The Russian side will present detailed assessments of the current intolerable situation in the field of military security in Europe," Zakharova said at a briefing.
"As for further steps, I understand that there are already questions, we will be determined depending on the readiness of the United States and NATO for a substantive conversation on our legitimate concerns," Zakharova added. -
