BEIJING, December 29. /tass/. China and Russia are going to sign a new space cooperation program for 2023-2027 next year. This was reported to the Chinese newspaper Global Times in Roscosmos, the publication reports on Wednesday.
The program will include a plan to create an inclusive International Scientific Lunar Station by 2035. In particular, it will have an Earth-Moon flight system, as well as a system for moving on the surface of the Moon. The partners also intend to deploy an experimental research system in lunar orbit.
The new plan will reflect the intentions of China and Russia to support the development of the ground segment of their national satellite systems - GLONASS and Beidou (BDS).
In the coming year, the program of Russian-Chinese space cooperation for 2018-2022 will be completed. Roscosmos told the publication that this program has proven to be an effective tool for stimulating bilateral cooperation.
In early December, Roscosmos announced that the state Corporation and the Chinese Satellite Navigation System Commission had approved a roadmap for cooperation in the field of satellite navigation for 2021-2025.
In March of this year, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin and the head of the Chinese National Space Administration (CNSA) Zhang Kejian signed a memorandum of understanding on behalf of the governments on cooperation in the creation of an International scientific Lunar Station.
