The next tests of the S-500 Prometheus anti-aircraft missile system have been conducted in the Arctic. This is reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the source.
"The launch of a long-range missile system was carried out on a hypersonic target, the target was successfully hit. Tests of the S-500 are continuing," the agency interlocutor said.
He also stated that prototypes of the new S-550 system for firing have not yet been created, and its tests are not planned in the near future.
In July, the S-500 Prometheus was called one of the most modern air defense systems in the world and considered it a special challenge to NATO. Portal 19FortyFive explained that the new complex is capable of hitting any existing and projected means of attack at any height and speed. At the same time, it is more resistant to electronic interference.
