According to the Estonian president, "the negotiations between Putin and Biden alarmed many in the West" because of the feeling that the countries of the "eastern wing of the EU" are "bypassed"
Tallinn, December 28. INTERFAX - Estonian President Alar Karis said that he is ready to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin if such an offer is received.
"Of course, if an offer is received, it will be necessary to respond to it. And if there is a reason to meet with Putin, it will have to be done," Karis said in an interview with the Russian-language channel of Estonian television ETV+ on Tuesday.
At the same time, he noted that the conversation with Putin should not be conducted "alone."
"Today the situation is relatively complicated and it changes almost every day. But at this moment, I believe that it is not me alone, and not the US president, but NATO countries or European countries together, who should negotiate with Putin. I think this is the most important task at the moment."
According to him, the talks between Putin and US President Joe Biden alarmed many in the West.
