China expects that during the visit of the Russian president to Beijing in February 2022, Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping will adopt a weighty political document.
This was stated by Xia Baolong, Chairman of the Chinese part of the Russian-Chinese Friendship, Peace and Development Committee, Deputy Chairman of the National Committee of the People's Political Consultative Council of China, Head of the State Council of the People's Republic of China for Hong Kong and Macau Affairs at the XIII plenary session of the bilateral committee.
"Next February, as we know, Russian President Vladimir Putin will pay a visit to China and take part in the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Beijing. President Putin will thus become the first of the leaders of large states in the world to visit China since the outbreak of the pandemic. The heads of our states will hold the first face—to-face meeting in two years, during which a thorough exchange of views will take place and a weighty political document will be adopted," he said.
The XXIV Winter Olympic Games will be held in Beijing from February 4 to 20, 2022, and the Paralympics - from March 4 to March 13, TASS reminds.
