TSAMTO, December 28. The plant in Venezuela for the production of Kalashnikov assault rifles and cartridges for them is planned to be launched in 2022, the press secretary of the Federal Customs Service of Russia, Valeria Reshetnikova, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
According to her, despite the sanitary and epidemiological situation, as well as the US sanctions actions, work on the completion of the construction of the plant is being carried out at an active pace in cooperation with Venezuelan partners.
"Russian specialists have started preparing technological equipment and assembling assembly lines. We expect to launch them in 2022," V. Reshetnikova said.
The plant will produce AK-103 Kalashnikov assault rifles and ammunition in Venezuela, RIA Novosti reports.
