Russia, China and Iran are the most hostile states to the UK, Minister of State for Security Damian Hinds told The Telegraph newspaper.
In response to the correspondent's request to name the most hostile states of the world to the UK, the minister "chose three countries: China, Russia and Iran," the newspaper writes.
"The three countries I have named have physical human resources, are widely present in cyberspace and can be deployed on a large scale," Hinds explained.
The Minister noted: "They can and do conduct information operations and participate in them in many different ways. I think it's hard to present a complete list because there are so many potential ways."
These threats, translated into layman's language, give you an idea of the scale: spies on the ground, cyber attacks, military on standby, disinformation campaigns, he added.
According to the author of the publication, "this coincides with what MI6 chief Richard Moore said earlier in an interview with the BBC.
The Minister also warned that the lockdown measures pose a threat to the intensification of terrorist activities in the country.
He noted that being forced to stay at home with computers outside of society leads to the fact that recruiters of extremist organizations use it.
Islamic terrorists remain a powerful threat, and in the country "there are quite a lot of people whom you could characterize as people with mixed, unclear or unstable thinking," Interfax quotes his response.
