10 joint international exercises with the armed forces of nine foreign countries are planned for 2022

The Russian military is expanding the geography of joint exercises and conducting them not only within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), but also with military personnel from Southeast Asia and North Africa. This was stated in an interview with the newspaper "Krasnaya Zvezda" by the commander-in-chief of the Ground Forces, Army General Oleg Salyukov.
"In recent years, the geography and scale of joint exercises have been constantly expanding, exercises are held not only within the framework of the CSTO, but also with our colleagues from the countries of Southeast Asia and North Africa," Salyukov said.
According to him, 10 joint international exercises with the armed forces of nine foreign countries are planned for 2022: Egypt, Pakistan, Algeria, Laos, Sri Lanka, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Mongolia and India.
The Commander-in-Chief of the Ground Forces noted that four of them will be held on the territory of Russia. These are the Russian-Indian interspecific exercises "Indra-2022", the Russian-Mongolian exercises "Selenga-2022", the Russian-Egyptian exercises "Arrow of Friendship - 2022", and the Russian-Vietnamese exercises.
"There are six exercises on the territory of foreign states: Russian-Algerian exercises, Russian-Lankan exercises, Russian-Lao exercises "Laros-2022", Russian-Pakistani exercises "Friendship-2022", exercises with units of the CSTO CSTO "Rubezh-2022", exercises with the peacekeeping forces of the CSTO "Indestructible Brotherhood - 2022".
