MOSCOW, December 26/ Sputnik Radio. Russia, offering the West to discuss security guarantees, wants to clearly define the "red lines" and ensure respect for the national interests of the country and the security of its citizens. This was stated by President Vladimir Putin on the air of the TV channel "Russia 1".
Putin stressed that Moscow is setting up "red lines" because "we have nowhere to go, they have pinned us to such a line ... that there is nowhere else to move."
On December 17, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation published draft agreements with NATO and the United States in the field of security. The documents, in particular, exclude the further expansion of the alliance to the east and the entry into it of the countries of the former USSR.
The projects also provide for the rejection of any military activity of the bloc in Ukraine, in other states of Eastern Europe, as well as in Transcaucasia and Central Asia.
Earlier, Sputnik radio reported a possible date for the meeting of the Russia-NATO Council.
