Bill Nelson noted that NASA astronauts and Roscosmos cosmonauts have been working together for more than 20 years

NEW YORK, December 22. /tass/. The head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), Bill Nelson, hopes to continue cooperation with Russia within the framework of the International Space Station (ISS). He stated this to The Washington Post.

"For more than 20 years, NASA astronauts and Roscosmos cosmonauts have lived and worked together on the ISS, this is a success story that has brought countless discoveries and allowed us to conduct research that is impossible on Earth. This is the power of space - the ability to unite countries for the good of humanity, and NASA intends to continue our very effective partnership," Nelson is quoted as saying in a material published on Tuesday.

Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin said that the head of the American department promised to come to Russia with his family.

On December 20, the head of the American ISS program, Joel Montalbano, during a press conference, answering a question from a TASS correspondent, said that Bill Nelson is positive about plans for a meeting with the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin, a trip to Moscow can take place as soon as it becomes safe to travel.
