The Russian Federation should develop military and military-technical cooperation with the SCO and CSTO countries, strengthen the security of the Union State of Russia and Belarus. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at an expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense.
"In a difficult international situation, it is necessary to develop military and military-technical cooperation with the SCO and CSTO member states, pay special attention to strengthening the defense capability of the Union State of Russia and Belarus," the Russian president said.
He noted that it is important to continue the planned progressive systematic development of the armed forces systems, including taking into account the priorities outlined in the latest edition of the National Security Strategy of the Russian Federation and the concept of construction and development of the armed forces until 2030.
Putin outlined the main tasks to focus on in 2022. "It is necessary to continue the planned, balanced equipping of troops with modern weapons and equipment, pay special attention to the supply of high-precision complexes, the latest intelligence, navigation, communications and control systems," he said.
Also, the priority tasks of combat and operational training should be the development of modern weapons, new forms and methods of action of troops. "In this regard, adjustments should be made to the combat training programs in order to take them into account when conducting exercises in the coming year, including during the Vostok-2022 command and staff exercise," Putin instructed.
The President of the Russian Federation noted that today success in many areas directly depends on the accuracy and speed of decision-making, and in the military field, when conducting combat operations, such speed is calculated in literally minutes, or even seconds. Therefore, it is necessary to develop decision-making systems for commanders of all levels, especially in the tactical level, to introduce artificial intelligence technologies into these systems, the head of state said. He also added that there should be effective algorithms of actions and advanced automation at all levels. "At the same time, we see that modern military conflicts do not take place according to a template, in them, as before, the key role belongs to the commander," Putin drew attention. - A lot depends on his knowledge, experience, personal qualities." Thus, according to the president, the winner is the one who makes really non-standard decisions. Therefore, the Russian leader instructed to train such versatile commanders in all respects during operational combat training. "They should be in the personnel reserve of military leaders, they need to be looked at, directed now, given the opportunity for further career growth," the head of state concluded.
