"The destabilization of the situation in Afghanistan creates risks of exporting terrorism and drugs to the territory of the CSTO states. We are closely monitoring the situation and promptly respond to all threats to the country's military security," Shoigu said.
An expanded meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation was held in Moscow with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin, at which, among other things, further priorities for the development of the army and navy were determined.
The leadership of the armed forces, representatives of state authorities and public organizations were invited to the expanded meeting of the board.
