TSAMTO, December 17. The 17th meeting of the Belarusian-Chinese Coordinating Committee for Cooperation in the Field of Armaments and Military Equipment was held via videoconference on December 17.
The Belarusian part of the Committee was headed by Dmitry Pantus, Chairman of the State Military Industry Committee, and the Chinese part was headed by Major General He Yubin, Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for the Development of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China.
Opening the 17th meeting of the Committee, Major General He Yubin noted that, despite the global pandemic, military-technical cooperation between China and Belarus has positive dynamics, good potential and prospects for further development in a number of areas of mutual interest.
In turn, Chairman of the State Military Industry Committee Dmitry Pantus stressed the strategic importance of developing comprehensive bilateral relations and informed his Chinese colleagues that on December 3, 2021, President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko approved Directive No. 9 "On the development of bilateral relations between the Republic of Belarus and the People's Republic of China". He noted that one of the areas of cooperation reflected in the document is cooperation in the military-technical sphere.
The sides exchanged views on the results of bilateral military-technical cooperation, praised the successes achieved in this area and stressed that military-technical cooperation is an important indicator of the strategic partnership between Belarus and China, has a strong political foundation, develops on the principles of equality and mutually beneficial trust, meets the fundamental interests of the two countries.
In addition, it was noted that the working bodies of the two states carried out high-quality work on drafting and agreeing on the text of the protocol, which provides an analysis of the state of implementation of bilateral projects, made proposals to update the list of main activities and projects of military-technical cooperation between the two countries.
The results of the work carried out and the plan for further cooperation, as well as the concrete results of the current meeting were reflected in the final protocol, which was signed on behalf of the Belarusian side by the Chairman of the State Military Industry Committee Dmitry Pantus, on behalf of the Chinese side by the Deputy head of the Main Directorate for the Development of Weapons and Military Equipment of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China, Major General He Yubin.
