The search and identification of the nature of unidentified flying objects (UFOs) has been officially declared one of the important tasks of the Pentagon.
The US Congress has established a special service in the system of the Ministry of Defense — the Department for Tracking Anomalies and Finding out their Nature (ASRO, Anomaly Surveillance and Resolution Office).
The service will be engaged in a targeted investigation of military reports (mainly pilots) about their meetings with incomprehensible apparatuses on the border of the atmosphere and space.
The leadership of the American intelligence service counted 144 such reports, about which a special report was provided to Congress in June of this year.
Six months later, the legislators still decided that the unidentified objects were worth allocating a lot of money for their identification.
What makes the current decision of Congress (adopted by 363 votes to 70) especially noteworthy is that legislators allocate money for tasks that are almost completely based on assumptions and guesses — this is not hidden by the initiators of the amendments to the NDAA themselves.
Currently, we have no evidence that the NWS are part of foreign intelligence efforts or an example of advanced technologies used by a potential adversary, the authors of the initiative admit.
After the relevant amendments to the budget for 2022 are made by Congress, US military pilots will officially be assigned to track such objects if they appear in the field of view or on radars. They have done this before, but on their own initiative.
