More than 10 companies have expressed a desire to join such an association, said the head of Success Rockets Oleg Mansurov
MOSCOW, December 16. /tass/. The Association of Private Space Companies, if established in Russia, could collect information about problems and tools for the development of commercial cosmonautics. Oleg Mansurov, the head of the Russian private space company Success Rockets, made such an idea at a meeting on improving legislation in the field of space activities, which was held in the Federation Council.
"It seems appropriate to establish an association of private space companies," he said.
According to Mansurov, the goals of such an association may be the collection and systematization of information about problems and effective tools for the development of private astronautics, as well as work with legislative and executive authorities. "So that we do not walk alone from senator to senator and through the executive authorities, but act together," he explained.
"More than 10 companies have expressed a desire to join the association. This is a well-coordinated and common solution. I think we will prepare all the documents for the first meeting in January," the head of the company said.
In October 2020, Success Rockets informed TASS that it plans to offer its ultralight launch vehicles to potential customers for satellite launches. The maximum cost of one launch, depending on the type of missiles, will be $2.8 million.
The corporation plans to manufacture platforms for the creation of satellites for various purposes. The SKIBR-CUB platform will be designed to create CubeSat satellites (ultra-small devices) that can be used for scientific and educational purposes, as well as for optical remote sensing of the Earth with a resolution of up to five meters and providing the Internet of Things.
