BRUSSELS, Dec 16 - RIA Novosti. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said he expects that the new strategic concept will confirm the importance of partners such as Ukraine and their right to join the alliance.
"We are currently preparing a new strategic concept. I hope that this new strategy will reflect the importance of such valuable partners as Ukraine, as well as the right of third countries to choose their own path," he said, answering a question about whether Ukraine's desire to join NATO will be taken into account in the new strategic concept of the alliance, which is scheduled to be approved at the Madrid summit in the summer.
