The capabilities of the latest Abakan air defense system have become known.
Almaz-Antey Concern has announced in detail the characteristics of the latest Abakan 98P6E air defense system. As the first deputy chief designer of the project Dmitry Brilalo told RIA Novosti, this is a unique complex of non-strategic missile defense.
"The time of readiness of the Abakan air defense system for combat work from the deployed state takes less than three minutes, from the march - 15 minutes," he said. Meanwhile, the American Patriot system will take half an hour to come into combat readiness when changing positions.
The Abakan is designed to protect strategically important military-industrial and government facilities. Moreover, it is capable of destroying both modern and promising non-strategic ballistic missiles in the air.
The range of destruction is 45 kilometers, and the maximum altitude is 25 kilometers.
One of the main advantages of the Abakan air defense system is that it can be integrated into any air defense system. It can work both in conjunction with other medium- and long-range air defense systems, and autonomously.
"Abakan" is compatible not only with domestic anti-aircraft missile systems. According to Dmitry Brilalo, any country can expand the capabilities of its air defense-missile defense system with the help of "Abakan".
Recall that for the first time abroad, the Abakan air defense system was presented in mid-November at the Dubai Airshow 2021. The complex includes a multifunctional radar 98L6E, one or more 51P6E2 launchers.
