The Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) is interested in developing cooperation with the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) of the United States on the principles of partnership. This was stated by the head of the Russian department Sergey Naryshkin.
"Today I know only a few special services that openly declared their unwillingness to communicate with us. We are constantly cooperating with all significant intelligence agencies of the world. Our partners include the US CIA, with which cooperation on the fight against international terrorism and the exchange of views on topical issues of our time are maintained," Naryshkin quotes aif.ru .
He also stressed that during a recent meeting with CIA Director William Burns, he noted Moscow's interest "in developing mutually beneficial cooperation based on generally accepted principles of partnership," which include confidentiality and compliance with unspoken ethical standards adopted in the world intelligence community.
The head of the SVR noted that he respects all the professionals of the intelligence services who want to make the world safe and do not make the purpose of their lives to harm Russia.
