Almaz-Antey Air Defense-Missile Defense Concern has created a unique anti-aircraft missile system of non-strategic missile defense (NPRO) "Abakan", the readiness time for combat operation of which is less than three minutes, First deputy chief designer of the complex Dmitry Brilalo told RIA Novosti.
The Abakan complex was first presented abroad at the Dubai Airshow 2021.
"The time of readiness of the Abakan air defense system for combat work from the deployed state takes less than three minutes, from the march – 15 minutes," said Brilalo.
The deployment time, for example, of the American Patriot complex when changing positions is 30 minutes.
The designer recalled that the highly mobile multi-channel ballistic missile system of the Abakan 98P6E non-strategic missile defense system was created to defeat modern and promising non-strategic ballistic missiles in the defense of strategically important military-industrial facilities, government and administrative buildings of the state.
Brilalo stressed that the Abakan can be integrated into any air defense-missile defense system and will ensure the performance of combat missions both autonomously and as part of any medium- and long-range anti-aircraft systems as an additional missile defense module.
"This expands the capabilities of the air defense-missile defense group of any country to repel a massive attack by enemy ballistic missiles," the agency interlocutor explained.
At the same time, the target's range is 45 kilometers, the maximum altitude is 25 kilometers.
