MOSCOW, Dec 14 - RIA Novosti. Russian President Vladimir Putin has told French President Emmanuel Macron about the importance of immediately launching international negotiations to develop legally fixed security guarantees, the Kremlin's press service reports.
"The Russian President stressed the importance of immediately launching international negotiations to develop legally fixed guarantees that exclude any further advance of NATO to the east and the deployment of weapons threatening Russia in neighboring states, primarily in Ukraine. This was also discussed during a recent videoconference with US President Joseph Biden," the message says.
"The Russian leader called on the French partners to understand the concerns expressed and take part in their discussion," the message also says.
