RBC: Russian Foreign Ministry to develop artificial intelligence for foreign policy analysis
The Russian Foreign Ministry is working on a system that will use artificial intelligence to analyze arrays of data on foreign policy issues. RBC writes about this.
Sergey Kiryushin, Special Representative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs for Digital Transformation, told the publication that next year it is planned to develop a conceptual design of the system, and already based on the results of this design, the department will be determined regarding the financing of the program. The technological partner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in this project will be the Ivannikov Institute of System Programming (ISP RAS).
The official refused to disclose what kind of data would be entrusted to the machine to analyze. Kiryushin only pointed out that "there are many analytical tasks in foreign policy activities, as well as units that need such a system."
On December 13, it was reported that Oxford University experts organized a discussion between humans and artificial intelligence to talk to AI about the future of the industry. As a result, the machine warned humanity about the dangers of artificial intelligence: "the only way to avoid an AI arms race is not to deal with AI at all," she pointed out.
