Kalashnikov specialists are developing a combat system with elements of artificial intelligence that will improve the speed of enemy detection and shooting accuracy.
This was told by the general director of the enterprise Vladimir Lepin. According to him, the new product involves the integration of small arms with means of observation, recognition and aiming.
Experts believe that a complex with a neural network will become part of modern and promising army equipment and will be required primarily by elite formations of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Vladimir Lepin, General Director of the Kalashnikov Group of Companies, said that the company's specialists are developing a system with elements of artificial intelligence for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
"If we talk about the future of firearms, then shooting systems of destruction must respond to the challenges that the Armed Forces will face, while maintaining the traditional simplicity and reliability. Now we are actively working on the integration of small arms with surveillance, recognition and aiming systems," Lepin said in an interview with the newspaper Krasnaya Zvezda.
According to him, the combat complex with elements of artificial intelligence "allows a serviceman to become more effective in combat, improving the quality of observation and the speed of detection of the enemy, as well as significantly increasing the accuracy of the hit."
Lepin said that during the International Military-Technical Forum "Army-2021" held at the end of August, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu highly appreciated the project of a system with elements of artificial intelligence.
