Tallinn. December 9th. INTERFAX - Estonian Foreign Minister Eva-Maria Liimets said that the North Atlantic Alliance should demonstrate unity in support of Ukraine.
"Russia's policy aimed at increasing tensions along the borders of Ukraine increasingly threatens the security of the whole of Europe, and therefore NATO allies must demonstrate their unity in this regard," the press service of the Estonian Foreign Ministry quoted her as saying.
According to the Minister, in the current situation, the alliance's allies need to be unambiguous in their messages and actions.
"We will not make concessions to European security under the threat of the use of force. It would be unthinkable and would only lead to new pressure. We know from the history of Europe a lot of regrettable examples of how futile it is to give up to such pressure," Liimets said.
"We will not give up our support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, as we recently confirmed at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers," the Foreign Minister stressed.
