TSAMTO, December 9th. Nigeria offers Russia to create a working group whose task will be to work out issues on possible arms supplies, this issue is being discussed.
This was stated by the Nigerian Ambassador to Moscow Abdullahi Shehu in an interview with RIA Novosti.
"This (arms supplies - ed.) needs to be discussed. Military-technical cooperation provides a comprehensive legal basis for such ties. We need to create a working group of technical specialists that will determine the key needs of Nigeria and requests to Russia about how Moscow can support us in the current situation," A. Shehu told RIA Novosti.
He noted that there are no concrete plans yet, now the Nigerian authorities are discussing this issue with the Russian authorities. According to the ambassador, there are also no commitments about what kind of possible assistance Russia will receive.
"Now Nigeria is solving the problem of terrorism. When the need arises, Nigeria will turn to Russia for help," the ambassador added.
