BAIKONUR /Kazakhstan/, December 8. /tass/. Promsvyazbank and Roscosmos have signed an agreement that implies the provision of preferential mortgages for members of the Russian cosmonaut squad. The agreement was signed after the launch of the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with the Soyuz MS-20 manned spacecraft on Wednesday from Baikonur.
"In accordance with the agreement, cosmonauts and cosmonaut candidates will be able to take advantage of a preferential mortgage program from the PSB at a rate of 0.1% per annum," the press service of Roscosmos noted.
According to the state corporation, housing under the program can be purchased both on the primary and secondary market. "The maximum loan amount is 12 million rubles for cosmonauts, 7 million rubles for cosmonaut candidates, the initial payment is 10% of the loan amount. The loan is provided for a period of three to 15 years," Roscosmos added.
In turn, the first Deputy Director General of Roscosmos for Economics and Finance Maxim Ovchinnikov said that a special insurance program has also been developed for astronauts. "A special insurance program has been developed to increase the prestige of the cosmonaut profession, and wages have been increased. Now a preferential mortgage program is being added on unprecedented terms," he recalled.
The Soyuz-2.1a launch vehicle was launched on Wednesday from the 31st site of Baikonur at 10:38 Moscow time. TASS correspondent cosmonaut Alexander Misurkin, Japanese billionaire Yusaku Maezawa and his business assistant Yozo Hirano went into orbit on it. The duration of the ship's flight will be 12 days. Misurkin, Maezawa and Hirano will return to Earth on the morning of December 20.
TASS and Roscosmos signed a memorandum of cooperation on November 17, which implies the creation of an agency office on the International Space Station.
