Moscow. December 8th. INTERFAX-AVN - Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov said that representatives of Russia and the United States will "very promptly" begin discussing strategic security issues raised during a videoconference between the presidents of the two countries Vladimir Putin and Joe Biden.
"The presidents have agreed that they will appoint their representatives, who will very quickly begin discussing this difficult, confrontational situation - discussing strategic security issues on the continent," Peskov said on Wednesday, answering a corresponding question from journalists.
According to him, "it is not yet possible to say exactly when it will be, but the presidents meant that it should take place very, very quickly."
Answering a clarifying question whether these meetings will take place within the framework of the ongoing dialogue on strategic stability, Peskov said: "Whether it will be in the depths of this dialogue or there will be something separate, it remains to be decided, depending on which representatives the presidents will appoint in the current situation."
