BAIKONUR /Kazakhstan/, December 8. /tass/. Roscosmos has successfully implemented plans for 2021 to support Russian cosmonauts. Maxim Ovchinnikov, First Deputy Director General of the State Corporation for Economics and Finance, told reporters about this.
"Since the beginning of the year, we have set priorities, we have successfully fulfilled them in the time that we set for ourselves. This is a question of raising wages, providing housing, including office housing, a mortgage issue," Ovchinnikov said.
According to him, now it is necessary to agree with the cosmonaut squad on how to build plans for 2022, the next three years.
In April, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree according to which the salary of cosmonaut candidates will increase from 60.9 thousand to 129.5 thousand rubles. For cosmonauts, it will increase from 63.8 thousand to 135.8 thousand rubles, for those of them who have already flown into space - from 69.6 thousand to 139.2 thousand rubles per month, for cosmonaut instructors - from 88.4 thousand to 165.9 thousand rubles. Interest surcharges will be calculated from the new rates.
The order is valid for legal relations that have arisen since January 1, 2020. In April, Ovchinnikov told TASS that the salary of cosmonaut candidates after the increase will average about 300 thousand rubles a month, and experienced cosmonauts - more than 500 thousand rubles. According to him, before the salary increase, Russian cosmonauts were almost two times lower than their colleagues from the United States or Europe.
In June, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin announced that members of the Russian cosmonaut squad would be part of the department of special examinations of manned cosmonautics, including overseeing the creation of space technology at enterprises. According to the head of the state corporation, it will work according to the type of military acceptance. Cosmonauts, at their request, will be assigned to specific enterprises.
