The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation has proposed to change the legislation on weapons in some articles. This was reported on December 8 by RIA Novosti with reference to the department's letter to the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
It is noted, in particular, that the agency wants to get the authority to study cartridges for civilian and service weapons.
"It is proposed to amend Article 7 of the Federal Law "On Weapons", giving the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia the authority to conduct expert research and issue an opinion on the compliance of cartridges for civilian and service weapons with forensic requirements," the letter reads.
As specified in the material, now the law does not have a fixed structure for checking cartridges for compliance with forensic requirements. The proposed changes will fix this, according to the Interior Ministry.
Earlier, on October 14, the government commission on legislative activity approved amendments to the federal law "On Hunting ...", which will complicate obtaining a hunting ticket, and therefore weapons.
The amendments propose to oblige citizens applying for a hunting ticket for the first time to undergo training and pass an exam according to the hunting minimum program, which includes knowledge of hunting rules, safety requirements when hunting, as well as the basics of wild animal biology.
On June 28, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law raising the age of purchase of hunting and firearms smoothbore long-barreled self-defense weapons from 18 to 21 years. The document also introduces additional grounds for refusing to issue licenses for the purchase of weapons.
In the same month, the State Duma in the third, final reading adopted a law on strengthening state control over the circulation of weapons.
