MOSCOW, December 6. /tass/. Conclusions of experts from the Stockholm Peace Research Institute (SIPRI) The decline in sales of Russian weapons on the world market cannot serve as an objective source of information. This was reported to TASS on Monday in the press service of the Rostec state Corporation, commenting on the SIPRI report published on December 6, according to which sales of the largest Russian arms manufacturers on the world market decreased.
"We have repeatedly said that the SIPRI ratings are not a guide and an objective source of information for us for many reasons. First of all, Western analysts rely on open sources and do not know the real picture," Rostec reported.
The state corporation explained that all calculations are given in dollars, but the main volume of domestic defense industry products is the state defense order, where calculations are made in rubles. "The rating is not based on the number of tanks, planes, helicopters and other weapons, but on the volume of dollar revenue," the press service noted.
Rostec clarified that the difference in exchange rates is not taken into account, that is, the approach is formal and simplified. "In fact, official reports show that the revenue of Rostec companies increases annually, production volumes remain at a high level. It is noteworthy that the SIPRI rating recorded an increase in revenue in dollar terms from our holdings such as UAC, UVZ, Roselectronics, KRET," the state corporation stressed.
