This was stated to journalists on Monday by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov following talks with Indian Foreign Minister Subramanyam Jaishankar and Russian-Indian consultations in the "2+2" format between the defense and foreign ministers of the two countries.
"The S-400 deal is not only symbolic, but also of great practical importance for ensuring India's defense potential," Lavrov said. - So far everything is going according to plan. The agreements are being fulfilled. We see attempts on the part of the United States to undermine such cooperation and impose on India the purchase of its own weapons, as well as to follow American ideas about how this region should develop."
The Russian Foreign Minister drew attention to the fact that during the talks, "Indian friends firmly and clearly stated that India is a sovereign state and will decide for itself whose weapons to buy and who will be its partner in this and other spheres."
