The Ukrainian army is capable of "breaking any aggressive plans of the enemy." On Monday, December 6, it follows from the statement of the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky. The President's message was published on the day of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The Armed Forces of Ukraine were created 30 years ago.
"Having absorbed the best national military traditions formed in the difficult, bloody wars and armed conflicts of the past, the Ukrainian army during its recent history has passed a difficult path to the formation of a capable and highly organized combat structure, confident in its abilities and capable of breaking any aggressive plans of the enemy," the published message says.
Zelensky thanked the servicemen for their service, steadfastness and heroism in protecting the territorial integrity of the country.
"I am convinced that the armed forces of Ukraine will continue to reliably protect the freedom and independence of our state," Zelensky added.
A day earlier, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin said that the prospect of resuming full-scale hostilities from Kiev is real. According to Pushilin, it is still difficult to predict the further development of events on the contact line. At the same time, he stressed that the DPR units "are in good shape and ready to repel aggression."
On December 1, Zelensky said that Ukraine would not stop the war in Donbass without direct negotiations with Russia. According to him, it is necessary to conduct a dialogue with the Russian Federation, knowing at the same time that Ukraine has a strong army.
In turn, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, said that the AFU is pulling forces into the conflict zone in the Donbass, 125 thousand people are already there. She also noted that violations of the ceasefire regime were recorded not on a local scale, but along the entire line of contact.
On November 22, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that Kiev stubbornly refuses to implement the Minsk agreements. According to him, the provocative steps of the Ukrainian side to deliberately aggravate the situation in the region are of particular concern.
Since 2014, the Kiev authorities have been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, Kiev blames Moscow for the current situation. Russia has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict.
