"The first spacecraft of the Avant Space company, equipped to demonstrate advertising from orbit, will be ready in April 2022," the company noted.
The device will be equipped with special lasers that will be able to demonstrate the image. "The startup is working on a project in which in 2022 it is planned to start displaying advertising in the night sky using satellites in Earth orbit," the company added.
In turn, the founder of Avant Space Anton Ossovsky noted that the first launch of the satellite will allow you to gain experience that will be scaled in the future. This "will lead to the full launch of the orbital advertising project, the coverage of which may exceed 1 billion people," he said.
In August, the company patented a method of laser data transmission from space to Earth based on the principle of a QR code. With the help of flickering lasers, a binary code is transmitted to the Earth, when pointing the phone at a satellite from the constellation, the user receives information in the form of text or hyperlinks.
In February last year, Director of the Project Implementation Department of the United Rocket and Space Corporation (ORCC) Andrey Divaev told TASS that the first two microsatellites with laser diodes, with the help of which it will be possible to write messages in the sky in the future, will go into orbit in 2022. According to him, the devices will be controlled as part of a swarm of satellites that will be sent into orbit in the future as part of the Constellation experiment.
