The military of the two countries will continue to work together in Idlib
Moscow. December 3. INTERFAX - Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, spoke in favor of further coordination of the efforts of the two countries to resolve the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Kremlin's press service reported.
"At the request of the President of Turkey, Vladimir Putin informed about the main results of the trilateral meeting of the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia on November 26 in Sochi, dedicated to the anniversary of the signing of the Statement on Nagorno-Karabakh of November 9, 2020. It is important that during the talks Baku and Yerevan confirmed their readiness to cooperate in the context of ensuring stability in the region, as well as to create mechanisms for the delimitation and demarcation of the border between the two states. In addition, the mood has been shown to resolve practical issues of restoring trade, economic and transport ties," the message reads.
It notes that "Erdogan, noting the importance of the mediation role of the Russian Federation, spoke in favor of further coordination of efforts, including using the capabilities of the Russian-Turkish Center for Monitoring the ceasefire and all military operations in the conflict zone."
"Mutual satisfaction was also expressed with the level of cooperation in order to stabilize the situation and establish a peace process in Syria. The military of the two countries will continue to work together in the Idlib de-escalation zone and in the Trans-Euphrates region," the press service reports.
"As for the situation in Libya, there is no alternative to a political and diplomatic settlement mediated by the UN. The hope was expressed for the successful holding of the national elections scheduled for December 24 this year, which should contribute to the restoration of Libyan statehood and territorial integrity," the message reads.
It notes that "a number of topical issues on the bilateral agenda were considered, including practical aspects of cooperation in the field of energy and agriculture. It was agreed to instruct the relevant departments to actively prepare for the next session of the High-level Cooperation Council, which could be held at the beginning of next year."
