It is known that the Brazilian Navy is also considering SPIKE LR2 missiles to equip its helicopters, but the Israeli ATGM has yet to compete for a contract with the British Sea Venom. According to Infodefensa, the SPIKE LR2 can be used in the Brazilian army to equip upgraded EE-9 Cascavel 6×6 reconnaissance vehicles.
SPIKE LR2 is declared by the manufacturer as a multi-platform multi-purpose rocket — it can be used by portable, mobile and ship launchers, as well as installed on the external suspensions of helicopters and airplanes. The 12.7 kg rocket has a tandem cumulative warhead with a high penetrating power (it is stated that the armor penetration is 30% higher than that of the Spike LR), supplemented with fragmentation striking elements. The manufacturer points out that Spike LR 2 can equally effectively destroy heavily armored vehicles, as well as enemy shelters, hitting manpower (the rocket can penetrate reinforced concrete up to 20 cm thick and explode behind an obstacle). Spike LR 2 missiles have a target range of 5.5 km, as well as up to 10 km in an aircraft modification.
