The capabilities of the Russian sniper rifle DXL-5 "Devastator" were described in the video.
The WarGonzo project was the first to test the new DXL-5 "Devastator" sniper rifle. It was developed by the private arms company Lobaev Arms for two cartridges - NATO 12,7x99 and 12,7x108. According to its creator, Vladislav Lobaev, there are no rifles of this class in the world. The transition from one caliber to another is solved by changing the barrel.
For the first time, a damper was used on such a rifle. It significantly softens the recoil, makes it very smooth for weapons of such a large caliber. However, its main task is to improve the accuracy of shooting.
According to Vladislav Lobaev, the accuracy of the "Devastator" is half a minute. That is, the scattering diameter is 15 millimeters per 100 meters. This exceeds the accuracy standards for sniper weapons by two times. No one in the world has managed to make a 12.7 caliber rifle with such an indicator. For example, the American large-caliber Barrett rifle has a accuracy of more than two minutes.
It is too early to talk about the real aiming range of the rifle while it is being tested. But the developers believe that it will reach 2.5 kilometers. In the video, the rifle showed a good result when shooting up to 2000 meters.
The weight of the DXL-5 without equipment is 13 kilograms. With cartridges - 14-14.5 kilograms.
Such characteristics make the "Devastator" not just a sniper, but a counter-sniper weapon. Its main purpose is to fight with ace snipers, the best of the best.
