The Russian military police in Syria conducted training with their Syrian colleagues on a special obstacle course in Aleppo province in the immediate vicinity of the Idlib de-escalation zone. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation on Friday, December 3.
Red paint was supposed to be poured on the obstacle course and stuffed animals depicting the dead were scattered — this is how the psychological stability of soldiers is usually checked. But on the strip in the village of Maseran, the real enemy is already very close, so it makes no sense to artificially create thrills for the fighters.
They tried to recreate the clash itself with maximum accuracy. So, conditional militants are shouting threateningly and blowing up TNT blocks. The strip is shrouded in black smoke from burning tires. Moreover, they shoot exclusively with live ammunition and even real explosives are used. This is all in order to break through the psychological barrier so that a soldier on a real battlefield no longer feels fear.
For the first time, the Syrian military police conducted training together with Russian fighters as a combined unit.
"We feel more confident when our Russian colleagues are around. These joint trainings help us to establish cooperation, work out coherence in the use of weapons, tactics and joint tasks on the battlefield," Khalid Mukhamad, commander of the military police battalion of the SAR Armed Forces, shared his impressions.
Psychological training is needed no less than physical training - it teaches soldiers self-control, trains their combat reflexes.
"First of all, a serviceman must overcome his inner fear, maintain self—control in order to complete the task," explained Alexander Ivanov, a representative of the military police of the Russian group of troops in Syria.
The language barrier does not interfere with the fighters of the two nations: the police use special gestures.
"You can rely on them. As the practice of this band shows, they do everything exactly as required of them at every stage," said Vladimir, the commander of the platoon of the military police of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
Psychological stability training in extreme conditions for the military of the two countries will be conducted regularly. This is especially true for front-line units that are located in the immediate vicinity of the Idlib de-escalation zone.
On November 30, Russian military specialists in the Syrian province of Aleppo conducted training of volunteers for the SAR army in shooting from various types of weapons. In particular, the combat skills of tankers and calculations of "Grad" jet systems were practiced.
