An alternative to this could be long-term security guarantees on Russia's western borders
Moscow. December 2. INTERFAX - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, during a meeting with US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, said that Ukraine's involvement in the foreign policy games of the United States would force Moscow to take retaliatory measures, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported after the talks.
"It was stressed that ignoring Russia's legitimate concerns, involving Ukraine in the geopolitical games of the United States against the background of the deployment of NATO forces in the immediate vicinity of our borders will have the most serious consequences, will force retaliatory measures to correct the military-strategic balance," the commentary published on the website of the Russian Foreign Ministry says.
An alternative to this, as Lavrov stressed, could be long-term security guarantees on Russia's western borders, "which should be considered as an imperative requirement," Smolenskaya Square added.
