The launch and landing site of the Amur-LNG reusable rocket being created in Russia has been determined at the Vostochny cosmodrome, Alexander Bloshenko, Executive Director of Roscosmos for Advanced Programs and Science, said at the All-Russian Cosmonautics and Aviation Forum CosmoStart 2021. This is reported by RIA Novosti .
"This year we carried out reconnaissance at the Vostochny cosmodrome and identified places for the launch complex, for the landing complex. We specially selected it so that this complex would not interfere with anyone and was energy efficient in ballistics, so that the stage could be returned along the correct trajectory, according to the correct inclination; we took into account the safety of all the objects of the cosmodrome," the head said.
In February, Dmitry Baranov, General Director of the Progress Rocket and Space Center (RCC), announced a delay in the development of the Amur-LNG reusable rocket. The head noted that the preliminary design of the medium carrier, which should run on an oxygen-methane fuel pair, has been completed by about 95 percent.
In the same month RIA Novosti with reference to the materials of Roscosmos posted on the public procurement website, it was reported that Soyuz-7 (Amur-LNG) should perform up to 50 flights into space during its service.
