Several shots were fired here the day before, the press service of the Kyrgyz Border Service of the State Committee for National Security reports.
"A meeting of border representatives of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan with the participation of akims (heads) of border areas, representatives of law enforcement and competent authorities of the parties took place in the Torte-Kocho area of the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan," the message reads.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided that in order to ensure public order, the law enforcement agencies of the parties, starting from December 2, will conduct joint patrols of the border territory, the agency notes.
The border units of the parties will continue to serve on a daily basis, as of 9:00 (06:00 Moscow time) on December 2, the situation on the Kyrgyz-Tajik section of the state border is characterized as stable, the press service noted.
On Wednesday, at approximately 21:15 (18:15 Moscow time), unknown persons fired seven to eight shots from Tajikistan in the Dakhma area of the Batken district of the Batken region of Kyrgyzstan near the conditional state border line.
According to the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan, presumably, the shots were fired from a hunting rifle, writes Sputnik Tajikistan.
