MOSCOW, December 1. /tass/. Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu has set a task for the command staff of the Armed Forces to ensure a high rate of combat training in the troops.
"I draw the attention of commanders at all levels to the need to maintain the intensity of combat training," Shoigu said on a conference call on Wednesday. At the same time, he noted that preparatory activities for the new academic year, which started in the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation on December 1, have been fully implemented.
"Training camps and instructor-methodical classes were held with officers and sergeants. Repairs and maintenance of landfill equipment have been carried out. Weapons, military and special equipment have been transferred to winter operation mode. The required stocks of material and technical means have been created," the minister said.
He stressed that "in order to avoid the spread of a new coronavirus infection, all measures should be carried out in strict accordance with sanitary and epidemiological norms."
"We will discuss the tasks facing us in more detail," the minister said, "including those related to combat training, at the final board at the end of December."
