Ekaterinburg. November 29. INTERFAX - About 40 exercises will be held at the 201st Russian military base in Tajikistan during the winter training period, which will begin on December 1, the Central Military District (CVO) reported.
"Servicemen of motorized rifle and tank units will be involved in battalion and company tactical exercises. Artillery calculations (...) they will perform firing tasks during tactical exercises of batteries and divisions with live firing, " the press service of the district said in a statement.
In addition, specialists of combat and logistics units will be involved in tactical and special exercises.
According to the Central Military District, the training events will be based on live firing from regular weapons and military equipment with the participation of army aviation helicopters.
"To assess the actions of unit commanders and test the ability to use forces and means, a number of exercises will be held in a bilateral format," the Central Military District said.
Also, according to the military, camp meetings of specialists of radiation, chemical and biological protection, communications, electronic warfare, air defense, artillery units, intelligence and engineering troops will take place at the Lyaur and Sambuli training grounds.
Against the background of the Taliban movement coming to power in Afghanistan (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation), Russia conducted a series of exercises in Tajikistan with its CSTO allies.
