MOSCOW, November 27/ Sputnik Radio. Former national security adviser to the US President John Bolton, in an article for 19Fortyfive, revealed a plan to strike Russia's positions in the former USSR.
According to the former White House official, Moscow is spreading influence through the "gray zone", which is located to the east of NATO and includes Ukraine, Belarus, Moldova, as well as the republics of the South Caucasus.
Bolton believes that the United States and its NATO allies should begin to unravel the "frozen conflicts" in these regions: resolve the Transnistrian conflict, as well as pay attention to the situation with Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
This, according to the ex-adviser to Trump, can distract the Kremlin from the Ukrainian problem and help the countries of the "gray zone" to join NATO.
According to Bolton, after the "catastrophic" withdrawal of US and other North Atlantic Alliance troops from Afghanistan, "it's time to show Moscow that the bloc is alive and well."
Earlier, Sputnik radio told why the Chinese proposed dividing the territory of Lithuania between Russia and Belarus.
