Hong Kong. November 27. INTERFAX - Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on Saturday reiterated his promise to consider "all options" to strengthen the country's defense capabilities in the face of growing threats from China and North Korea, Japanese media reported.
"I am considering all options, including the possession of the so-called ability to strike enemy bases, to further strengthen the necessary defense power," Kishida said at a meeting with the self-defense forces.
He noted: "The security environment surrounding Japan is rapidly changing at an unprecedented rate. What used to be described only in science fiction novels is now a reality."
