Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu on Friday signed about ten more agreements with the heads of the regions of the Russian Federation concerning the development of military enlistment offices. "These agreements concern military commissariats, the creation of their modern appearance. And for this we need to do a lot," Shoigu told the participants of the VII scientific and practical conference "The system of interdepartmental information interaction in solving tasks in the field of defense of the Russian Federation."
The Defense Minister clarified that by now such agreements have already been signed with 40 subjects of the Russian Federation. Another 43 documents are under approval.
It is known that the first military commissariat in the country, modernized as part of a large-scale project of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, is planned to open in the Tver region by the beginning of the spring draft of 2022. It is this region that has been identified as a pilot for bringing military enlistment offices and selection points in all regions of the country to modern requirements.
In June, while in the Tver region, Sergei Shoigu announced the launch of this project. According to the minister, its implementation will make commissariats modern, "so that one would like to come there not under compulsion or on an agenda, but at will." Among other things, we are talking about reducing the period of registration of citizens for military registration and the ability to receive the services of commissariats remotely.
Shoigu set the task to the General Staff - together with the leadership of the subjects of the Russian Federation to develop a program for the introduction of digital technologies in the activities of military enlistment offices. It is planned that it will start working from next year.
