The training plan for Crew Dragon will be further clarified, Roscosmos noted
MOSCOW, November 26. /tass/. Russian cosmonauts are not yet getting acquainted with the Crew Dragon spacecraft of Elon Musk's SpaceX company, but are being trained in some operations with it. This was reported to TASS by the executive director of Roscosmos for manned space programs Sergey Krikalev.
"While there is no ship itself, they are getting acquainted with operations together with Crew Dragon, because this is a common task," Krikalev said in response to a question whether Russian cosmonauts are now getting acquainted with the American ship when they are training on the American segment of the ISS.
According to him, the training plan for Crew Dragon will be further clarified. "We need familiarity and training with all individual protective equipment (spacesuits, lodgments), and most importantly, training in emergency procedures: what to do if something went wrong," he stressed.
Krikalev noted that cross-flights are advisable for both Russian and American programs, because they will increase the reliability of the system: in case of any failures, the Russian Federation and the United States will always have a representative in their segment.
At the end of October, Roscosmos CEO Dmitry Rogozin expressed the opinion that the Crew Dragon ships of Elon Musk's SpaceX company had gained enough experience so that Russian cosmonauts could fly them as part of cross-flights. Now, the head of the state corporation clarified a little later, there is a discussion of the composition of the crews.
