Bill Nelson did not announce the date of the planned trip
NEW YORK, November 24. /tass/. The head of the US National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Bill Nelson intends to come to Moscow and hold a meeting with the head of Roscosmos Dmitry Rogozin. He said this in an interview with SpaceNews portal published on Wednesday.
Last week, the heads of departments discussed the safety of crews on the International Space Station (ISS) and joint plans. The parties do not stop negotiations on the future development of the station, as well as on the issue of cross-flights of the two countries to it. "We will continue to have discussions and maybe we will be able to make some announcements when I arrive in Moscow," Nelson said, but did not give the date of the planned trip.
On November 16, the Russian military department announced that tests had been conducted, during which an inactive Russian spacecraft was successfully hit. The Defense Ministry stressed that it is carrying out planned activities to strengthen its defense capability and recalled that the main goal of the new US space strategy is to "create a comprehensive military advantage" in this area.
The military department stressed that the fragments formed after the defeat of the satellite do not pose a threat to the ISS and satellites, emphasizing that the satellite fragments are included in the main catalog of the domestic space control system and are immediately taken for escort until their existence ceases.
