Kiev. November 25. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - The Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office in Ukraine and the Trilateral Contact Group (TCG) on the settlement of the situation in Donbass, Ambassador Mikko Kinnunen, said that the security situation along the contact line is extremely unstable.
"The OSCE SMM reports damage to residential buildings and infrastructure facilities caused by heavy weapons on both sides of the contact line. The impasse related to the provision of security guarantees has become a serious problem for activities along the contact line and complicates the lives of the civilian population, as well as the work of the SMM," Kinnunen said in a press release on Wednesday.
"The security situation along the contact line is extremely unstable," Kinnunen stressed.
According to the OSCE mission, the number of ceasefire violations per day exceeds the same figure before the measures to strengthen the ceasefire regime came into force in July 2020.
According to Kinnunen, the positions of the participants of the political working group remain unchanged, which makes it difficult to exchange views on the development of a unified Action Plan to resolve the situation.
In the security working group, the participants mainly focused on the issue of security guarantees.
The Humanitarian working group discussed the release of detained persons, the search for missing persons and the possibility of simultaneously opening two new checkpoints across the contact line in Zolotoye and Shchastya Luhansk region.
