Following a meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, where the expansion of the practice of military training of students of civilian universities was considered, the head of the department, Sergei Shoigu, gave a number of instructions.
"It is necessary to prepare a schedule for regular certification of military training centers. This applies not only to those on whom we have made a decision today, but also to all training centers," the minister ordered. In his opinion, certification of personnel and fixed assets - textbooks, simulators - should be carried out in military training centers once every three years or every five years. Shoigu explained why this is necessary. "So that it doesn't work out that we create another training center, and then it turns into a circle of interests. This is too important and serious for us. As it was said in the Message of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief," the head of the defense Department said.
Shoigu is also sure that not only young men, but also girls should be given the opportunity to study in military training centers. "Girls have a great desire to study in the specialties that are defined for these higher educational institutions. It is necessary to continue and identify universities in which girls, including girls, can study, so that they have the opportunity to enter military service under a contract in the future. Especially in those specialties that require a good education, good training and are scarce and important for us, taking into account the fact that the highest technologies have come to the army," the minister shared his thoughts.
His separate assignment is connected with the help of the military training center being created in Yakutsk. "I would pay attention to the military training center in Yakutsk. This training center must be supported from our side and provided with all the necessary equipment for those specialties that will be prepared there," Shoigu ordered.
