The Ministry of Defense plans to form new military training centers in civilian universities in seven more Russian regions. According to Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, speaking at a board meeting, this issue has been worked out with regional authorities and universities directly. He noted that the number of subjects of the Russian Federation with military training available to students will increase from 45 to 52. "Today we will make a decision on their creation, if, of course, we consider it possible according to the level of readiness," the minister said.
He stressed that such a decision is being implemented within the framework of the Message of the President of the Russian Federation to the Federal Assembly, where the importance of developing military education was stated - both on the basis of military universities and on the basis of military training centers.
According to Shoigu, in order to implement the instructions of the head of state, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, together with the Ministry of Education and Science and the rector's community, held a large-scale conference on April 30. "Following its results, a declaration was adopted and a schedule was approved, which formed the basis for our further work in this direction," the minister said.
