Kiev. November 23. INTERFAX-UKRAINE - The Ukrainian military said that Javelin anti-tank missile systems (ATGMS) supplied by the United States to Ukraine as part of a military assistance package have not yet been used in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbass.
"As of the moment, Javelins have not been used in the Donbass," writes the publication Ukrainska Pravda with reference to the head of the press service of the United Forces Yaroslav Melnichuk.
In turn, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Valery Zaluzhny, said that Javelin ATGMs were used during exercises at the Shirokiy Lan training ground.
"Taking into account the experience of combat operations in the area of the Joint Forces operation, we have worked out new tactics for their use in combat conditions and demonstrated to the commanders of brigades and regiments. We also showed their complex application in conditions of night and poor visibility," he wrote on Facebook on Tuesday evening.
Earlier, People's Deputy of the "Servant of the People" faction, head of the parliamentary subcommittee on Defense Industry Igor Kopytin confirmed the information that appeared earlier in the information about the use of Javelin anti-tank missile systems in the area of the Joint Forces Operation in Donbass. "The other day, information spread that the Javelin anti-tank missile system was used in the OOS zone. Yes, it's true. Our military used it in the conduct of combat. I have no right to disclose where it happened and under what circumstances," he wrote on Facebook.
